Boston, MA, September 14, 2011 -- Customers can maximize performance of print production workflow
Compart has extended the capabilities of its DocBridgeâ Software platform to support customers’ document workflow based on the Intelligent Printer Data Stream (IPDS) format. Compart helps companies improve data handling and document production with tools for quality control, conversion, modification, transformation and other capabilities that maximize workflow performance.

“It’s important for us to support the data formats that our customers use in their businesses. IPDS is an important print data stream for handling many transactional and legacy applications. With this extended development, Compart taps into an important market segment, as IPDS devices are widely used around the world. Companies can use Compart products alongside their IPDS printers to gain a comprehensive solution that can read printable files and control the digital printer to maximize the value of their technology investments,” said Mark Maragni, Vice President of Sales, Compart North America.

Removing Barriers to Production Performance

IPDS allows the presentation of pages containing an architecturally unlimited mixture of different data types, including text, image, graphics, bar code, and object container. It is used by a variety of InfoPrint and OEM print servers that drive all-points-addressable (APA) page printers. Generally, these printers are at the medium to high end of the print speed and volume spectrum, and applications can be variable and complex. The Compart IPDS filter removes issues customers may face in getting their document data to the printer in the optimal format for trouble-free production.

The IPDS driver from Compart closes the gap between any printable file and the IPDS printer. Documents from any origin can be directly sent to digital printers, if they support the IPDS protocol. Customers save money and avoid frustration, because third-party software does not have to be integrated into the production workflow.

Users gain a high level of performance from their production workflow, along with a wide range of error handling functions. Furthermore, it provides extremely high process control for professional printing operations.
