GCS Recruitment Specialists Accelerate Performance with Linux and 2LS
Press release from: 2LS Limited
Leading recruitment specialists, GCS, have moved their GRIP Recruitment Software infrastructure from a Microsoft Windows Server to a Linux Server platform to enable greater performance, flexibility and cost savings.
Founded in 1989, GCS has over 20 years recruiting experience, a staff of highly skilled consultants and a proven track record in recruitment. GCS represents both permanent and contract candidates and is recognised as a leading supplier of top tier professionals working with some of the UK’s largest companies, and a diverse range of SMEs.
With over 50 consultants GCS need a recruitment system that is fast, reliable and cost effective. For that they have GRIP recruitment software from 2LS, an easy to use system that has been serving the business well for the past five years. Looking to the next five years GCS wanted to ensure that they got the best out of the system and saved money at the same time and so elected to move to a Linux platform.
According to GCS’ IT Manager Paul Taylor, “With the business continuing to expand even in the current economic climate GCS needed a scalable solution that was both cost effective and offered the performance our users demand. By moving to GRIP’s Linux platform we were able to save on licensing costs.” Taylor said “Already we are seeing more efficient searches and a three-fold improvement in our disaster recovery times.”
Speaking about the migration 2LS Managing Director, Neil Thompson, said “It is important that we are able to offer a variety of options in order to fit the needs of a disparate market of recruitment agencies both in terms of size and disciplines.”
Thompson continued “By offering GRIP on a Linux as well as a Windows platform we have a flexible solution that offers both a rich and easy to use front office system but also a scalable server component too.”
GRIP was developed by recruitment specialist 2LS to meet the exacting demands of a recruitment consultancy. It manages and underpins all aspects of the placement process covering clients, candidates and vacancies. GRIP Hosted provides a cloud based solution for consultancies wanting all the advantages of GRIP but with access anywhere. GRIP is currently in successful use by recruiters in the UK and overseas.
Founded in 1993 as a general software developer, 2LS is now exclusively focused on developing software solutions for the recruitment industry. GRIP was designed by recruiters to mirror the way they work and is now in extensive use across the UK and overseas.
