Cleaning Specialist Kärcher Banks on PSI
Press release from: PSI AG
(openPR) - Berlin, 31 August 2011 – The PSI subsidiary PSI Logistics GmbH has been contracted by the Alfred Kärcher GmbH & Co. KG with the delivery of the warehouse management software PSIwms for the Obersontheim site.
The logistics center in Obersontheim supplies customers and Kärcher companies worldwide with spare parts and accessories. To expand its international competitiveness and to shorten delivery times to customers, with the construction of a logistics center Kärcher is making the largest material assets investment in the history of the company. The 31-million euro investment will create an additional 20,000 sqm of floor space and additional pallet slots.
In the final phase the PSIwms will control the logistic processes in the new pallet storage and the 8-aisle automated small-parts warehouse with 85,000 bin storage slots. In addition, various technologies, for instance pick-by-voice and pick-by-light, will be in the picking to assure the quality and performance of the picking. To assure the process integrity, an external warehous will be connected to the entire system via web access. A case-calculation, which allows heterogeneous articles to be picked and packed for package and packaging space optimisation, underlines the complex process requirements which PSIwms already provides with functions available in the standard software.
Alfred Kärcher GmbH & Co. KG is the world’s leading provider of cleaning systems, cleaning products and services for leisure time, private households, commercial and industrial purposes. The more than 75 year-old family-owned company had record sales of more than 1.5 billion Euros in 2010 and employs more than 8,000 persons worldwide.
PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions, on the basis of its own software products, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, heat, water), cross-company production management (metals, automotive, mechanical and plant engineering, mining, logistics) and infrastructure management for transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1.450 persons in the group. www.psi.de, www.psilogistics.com

Comments about openPR
OpenPR ist the nicest and most clearly laid out PR platform I have seen to this day. The press releases are displayed very nicely and clearly and without any unnecessary frills.
The updates are fast and the finished release looks appealing and is clearly legible.
Even with 16 years of experience one discovers new things from time to time.
Congratulations!
