Press release from: Frogmedia,Inc

GlobalSign, one of the longest established Certification Authorities (CA) and specialists in Digital Certificate security, today announced the availability of its leading Digital Certificate and SSL products for the French market. With the launch of a new dedicated website (www.globalsign.fr), ordering system and native speaking sales and support services, the extension of GlobalSign’s services is timed to capitalise on the above average growth in SSL requirements in France (last year saw a 23% growth in the number of SSL certificates, making France the fourth largest market in Europe*).

France is experiencing growth in ecommerce, online consumer spending and associated online retail services as new services are brought online and consumers turn to the Internet to shop. This has in turn led to an increased level of threat from phishing attacks and online fraud. It has now become essential for all organisations with an online presence to use the most efficient and reliable online security solutions to protect their websites, online data and intellectual property, and to ensure that they comply with local, international and industry-specific regulations on data privacy, security and integrity. GlobalSign SSL is a professional level solution ideal for all levels of ecommerce and network security. The launch into France will attract customers looking for an alternative to current dominant SSL providers.

The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is the most widely deployed security protocol used today, essentially providing a secure channel between two machines operating over the Internet or an internal network. All levels of personal information are sensitive and should be secured, from credit card transactions and account logins to newsletter signups - SSL should be the minimum security standard when collecting and submitting data. GlobalSign SSL Certificates are packed with extra security features and are available at very cost effective levels. GlobalSign, Europe’s first Certification Authority aims to take the French market by storm over the next twelve months, helping to protect French customers against ever-growing online security threats, supporting new customers and educating them on how to look for strong website security, as well as contributing to overall SSL market growth in the country.

GlobalSign will be offering its full range of SSL Certificates via the new website, including fast issuance and the most advanced Extended Validated (EV) SSL Certificates, which activate the green address bar in new high security browsers such as IE, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari. French customers will be able to easily and conveniently purchase SSL to secure their websites, online transactions, web mail and other next generation online services using GlobalSign’s highly trusted and future proof technology. All GlobalSign Certificates are inclusive of Server Gated Cryptography (SGC) (to “step up” weak 40 bit browser to server connections to strong 128 bit), have the option of including additional premium features (for example, Subject Alternative Names (SANs) and wildcard characters to allow the securing of multiple domain names, sub domains, IP Addresses or hostnames with a single certificate). All Certificates are issued from GlobalSign’s future proof 2048 bit Certificate Authority Root, pre-installed in all browsers, operating systems and mobile devices.

“Launching dedicated SSL services into France and providing local language support is an exciting development for the GlobalSign brand and strengthens our overall position in the European SSL market.” said Paul Tourret, Managing Director, GlobalSign EMEA. “We hope to gain a substantial new customer base by providing cost effective solutions and look forward to welcoming on board new enterprises and SSL partners.”

The new website will also be offering GlobalSign’s other Digital Certificate solutions including SSL Managed Service for enterprises with multiple SSL Certificate requirements, Code Signing and Root Signing solutions.

GlobalSign SSL Certificates are currently available to order in French at www.globalsign.fr.
