Regenerative Medicine Roundtable Slated for October 6

(openPR) - RTP, N.C. (August 25, 2010)—Nagoya University announces today it is presenting the NU Tech Regenerative Medicine Roundtable (nutechtransfer.org) on October 6, 2011. The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Hamner Conference Center auditorium at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center.

More than 100 researchers, scientists, executives, entrepreneurs and investors are expected to attend. Six professors from the Wake Forest Institute of Regenerative Medicine, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Nagoya University will present their latest research.

The keynote speakers will be Tim Bertram, Ph.D., chief scientific officer, Tengion, Inc. He leads research and early development activities in advanced cell-based organ regeneration platforms for the company. Dr. Bertram has served as a senior executive with Pfizer, SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals, and Procter & Gamble Co. He has eight products that have achieved commercialization milestones, and more than 150 scientific communications and patents focusing on the cellular and molecular basis of diseases, as well as tissue and organ regeneration involving the respiratory, urogenital, renal and gastrointestinal organ systems.
