Clearwater, Florida (August 22, 2011) – Sun Dental Labs – a full-service dental laboratory serving dentists and dental labs worldwide – has added a new item to their offerings – CAD design services.

CAD design can be done for full zirconia crowns, bridges and copings. For labs using CEREC Connect, Sun Dental Labs can also design e.max and Empress crowns. Labs and dentists can scan impressions or models and send in STL files. From there, a trained CAD technician creates a high-quality computer designed STL file. Completed files are transferred via FTP.

“We have had several labs call and ask us if we would design crowns and bridges for them in our CAD department, because they couldn’t keep up with designing when a technician was out or they were experiencing high volumes of work,” explained Rick Brewer, CDT, Lab Manager for Sun Dental Labs. “We are happy to help labs with design during overflow situations or on a full-time basis – whatever they need. It’s just one more way we can be one source for all of their needs.”

Sun Dental Labs offers 24 and 48-hour turnaround on designs.
