RFID reader with integrated Wand Antenna

RFID reader with integrated Wand Antenna

Moers, 12.08.2011 The RFID Expert company TECTUS expands the RFID reader offering and reacts on customer requests for a Multifrequency RFID Handheld reader with extended antenna and USB interface.

Normally Handheld RFID devices support the reading of LF RFID transponders up to ca. 100 mm distance because the small built in antenna in combination with the possible power output cannot provide more distance. By using the new LF Multifrequency and Multiprotocol Wand Reader from TECTUS operators can get closer to animal or industrial transponders because of the reader and extended antenna in the wand.
The new RFID reader device TLP-30-LF-STICK-860-USB can be connected via USB interface to handheld PDAs or tablet PCs which makes it possible to keep the reader in the hand or on desktop so there is no need for moving the computer device. The extended wand antenna makes it possible that LF RFID transponders could be read from a distance up to ca. 1,5 meter. The industrial multifrequency and multiprotocol reader covers to read RFID transponders in frequency range LF 125 kHz and 134 kHz in FDX-B and HDX format. These LF ISO11784 / ISO11785 und ISO18000-2 compatible RFID transponder are in use in the animal identification, in the waste management and the maintenance and service application of sewers /valves for more than 10 years with best success. Beside the portable handheld RFID devices TECTUS offers also industrial stationary LF, HF and UHF RFID readers (developed and produced in Germany) for rugged and hazardous environment.

TECTUS Transponder Technology GmbH www.tec-tus.de (located in Moers, Germany) is the leading ATEX RFID system component supplier of readers and transponders (TAGs) and specialised expert company for applications in industry & logistics, maintenance, waste management, ATEX, security & access, and animal identification.
