(openPR) - Logistics specialist Rhys Davies Freight Logistics is providing America’s largest manufacturer of thermal and security paper with UK warehousing and daily delivery services across the country.

Appleton Papers, based in Wisconsin USA manufactures paper used for point-of-sale receipts, entertainment and transportation tickets, lottery and gaming tickets, security labels, cheques, official documents and other applications that incorporate security technologies such as embedded threads and watermarks. They are used by some of the UK’s leading security printers and stationery manufacturers. Appleton Papers is also the world’s largest producer of carbonless paper for use in multipart business forms.

Appleton ships its UK product range to RDFL’s Haydock warehouse ready for delivery to customers throughout Britain. Orders received by the US factory are sent to RDFL via the Internet and are picked and delivered the following day. Thanks to RDFL’s Empirica warehouse management system managers at Appleton’s headquarters have full visibility of stock at all times despite being thousands of miles from the Haydock warehouse and six hours behind UK time.

“Good communications are vital, especially when you’re dealing with a customer on the other side of the Atlantic working in a different time zone,” said Gary Phillips, Rhys Davies’ Commercial Manager. “We’ve invested heavily in the latest IT systems to help manage our logistics and give our customers the visibility they need to keep track of their stock.”
