(openPR) - Basel / Switzerland, August 2, 2011 -- The current programming on VernissageTV has its focus on the 54th International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia and the 42th edition of Art Basel, but among the highlights are also No Comment-reports and interviews from VernissageTV's correspondents in France, Poland, Mexico, and Argentina.

La Biennale di Venezia

The highlight of this year's summer of art, the 54th International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia, boasts an incredible number of exhibitions and artworks. VernissageTV produced walk-throughs of curator Bice Curiger's ILLUMInations exhibition in the Arsenale and the Giardini, and had a look at the numerous pavilions. Among others VernissageTV covered the German pavilion who won the Golden Lion for Best National Participation, and the much-debated Italian pavilion. There are also interviews with the artists Ayse Erkmen, Thomas Hirschhorn, Federico Díaz, and Clemencia Labin. Overall, VernissageTV produced more than 30 segments. Art 42 Basel

Back in Basel, VernissageTV attended the openings of Art 42 Basel and Art Unlimited, and had a closer look at the performances of Jamie Isenstein and Rirkrit Tiravanija. We strolled through Liste - The Young Art Fair, where we also spoke with the director of the New Art Dealers Alliance, Heather Hubbs, about NADA's collaboration with Art Cologne next year. Finally, VernissageTV were at the opening of the inaugural exhibition of Basel's new House of Electronic Arts.

Buenos Aires

VernissageTV's new correspondents in Buenos Aires / Argentina have sent reports on the solo show of Daniel Santoro at Galeria Palatina, the art fair arteBA 2011, and FASE 2011, the third edition of the Media Art Festival at Centro Cultural Recoleta.

Wroclaw

From another Media Art Festival, the 14th WRO Media Art Biennale 2011 in Wroclaw, VernissageTV has an overview and interviews with the artists David Bowen, Paweł Janicki, Willy Sengewald (TheGreenEyl), and Stelarc.

Paris

In Paris, VernissageTV covered Anish Kapoor's exhibition Leviathan at the Grand Palais (Monumenta 2011), and Bernar Venet's exhibition at the Chateau de Versailles.

Mexico City

VernissageTV's correspondents in Mexico had a look at Berlin-based artist Ignacio Uriarte's solo show at Casa Del Lago, Mexico City; the exhibition AKASO. Contemporary Art at Museo Universitario Chopo; and the group show Rastros at ECOH Galeria Mexico City.

Berlin, Rotterdam, Baden-Baden

From Berlin, there is a report from Based in Berlin, the show that wants to give an overview of Berlin's contemporary art scene; in Baden-Baden VernissageTV attended the Neo Rauch-exhibition at Museum Frieder Burda; and in Rotterdam VernissageTV documented the openings of Elmgreen & Dragset's The One & The Many-show and the presentation of the painstakingly restored "House of the Future", Matti Suuronen's Futuro, at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen.
