Press release from: Ketterer Kunst

Highlights of the special auction of children books, which will be called up in the auction of Rare Books in Hamburg.
In context of the auction of “Rare Books“ in the new Hamburg location on Holstenwall 5 on 21/22 November, Ketterer Kunst will not only sell high quality lots from the sections of natural science, literature, travel, geography and cartography, as well as a large selection of old prints and modern illustrated books. Additionally, the offering comprises two large collections of children books.
Among the roundabout 1000 lots are a number of German spelling books, picture books and activity books from the 19th to the mid 20th century by renowned authors and artists such as Karl F. von Freyhold, Karl Hofer, Ernst Kreidolf and Tom Seidmann-Freud. On top, the selection includes Dutch and English children books, among them a large number of so-called Movable Books, children books with movable parts as well as pop-up-books. Particularly interesting in this regard are the transformation books by Lothar Meggendorfer.
