Key Opportunities for Revenue Generation to be Discussed at Iraq Telecoms 2011

The CWC Iraq Telecoms 2011 conference promises to be the gateway to major opportunities for the telecommunications industry in Iraq. Taking place on 25 ‐ 27 October 2011, Istanbul, Turkey the conference will build on the success of Iraq Telecoms 2010, which gathered over 300 senior executives, 22 sponsors and 36 speakers from over 22 countries.

The Iraqi Ministry of Communications is supporting the conference and the newly appointed Minister of communications H.E. Mohammed Tawfik Allawi, stated in his letter of support and endorsement “the telecommunications sector was the first sector in Iraq to attract major international investors; it represents a major sector of unparalleled growth. The 6th Iraq Telecoms 2011 conference is the platform to show that communications plays a vital role in supporting Iraq’s economy.”

Iraq Telecoms 2011 will bring together the Ministry of Communications, the Iraqi Communications and Media Commission, the Iraq Parliament, the Kurdistan Ministry of Communications and the private sector all under one roof, providing unrivalled networking while outlining Iraq’s huge potential for revenue generation in the telecommunications market.

The conference agenda has been developed to address the regulatory framework to promote investment, the opportunities available within the sector, new projects for infrastructure, the role of new technologies combined with Iraq’s plans to increase oil and gas production and the role of telecommunications in building a digital system for oil fields.
