Onlineprinters GmbH Certified with FSC and PEFC Eco-Labels

The provider of online print services is now certified according to FSC and PEFC.

Neustadt an der Aisch, Germany – Onlineprinters GmbH is now certified according to FSC and PEFC. By obtaining FSC certification, the online print shop has proved that its entire product chain complies with the FSC standards, from manufacturing the print products in the production and service departments to further processing and logistics. Onlineprinters GmbH has always set great store by environmental and climate protection. "Even without a certificate we have always attached great importance to using ecologically compatible materials and processes. This spans the entire product chain: from internal administration, purchasing of paper, production and transport packaging to logistics", Armin Wondrak, plant manager of Onlineprinters GmbH, points out. "The FSC and PEFC certification is also a commitment for us to print some of our products on paper made from pulp or wood that comes from ecologically well-managed forests. With regard to content, the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification system for sustainable forest management is based on international resolutions adopted on the successor conference of the Rio Conference on the Environment in 1992. The primary goal of FSC and PEFC is to document and improve sustainable forest management with view to economical, ecological and social standards. "We are one of the largest online print shops in Europe. Paper is a renewable resource, and we believe that it is our responsibility to manage and use our planet's resources in a sustainable and responsible way", Wondrak is convinced.

Eco-labels document certified environmental protection
In May 2011, Onlineprinters GmbH received the certification for compliance with the FSC standards (Chain-of-Custody). LGA InterCert Zertifizierungsgesellschaft mbH is the certifier for the FSC product chain proof. The company is part of the TÜV Rheinland Group and is a renowned certification authority of Forest Stewardship Council A.C. (FSC). Michael Weppler, CEO of the LGA Intercert certification company, explains: "Products that carry the FSC label pass through different stations on their way from the forest to the consumer, and this involves several ownership relations. This chain, the chain of custody (CoC), can have varying lengths. The decisive factor is that all owners within the product chain are certified according to CoC. The product chain certification is a guarantee for consumers that wood products bearing the FSC label really come from certified and responsibly managed forests." The print products available in the online print shop www.onlineprinters.com are printed on paper made on the basis of pulp that comes from ecologically well-managed forests. Recycled articles such as stationery and envelopes that carry the "Blue Angel" eco-label have been a standard item of Onlineprinters GmbH's range of printed products for quite some time now. In the field of "Large Format Printing" we are also printing in compliance with environmental standards. We only use certified HP latex paints with the Greenguard label for printing the weather-resistant PVC banners or wind-permeable mesh fabric. Our online customers do not have to pay extra for our ecologically compatible papers and paints.

Certifications document corporate responsibility
For Onlineprinters GmbH certifications are the basis for a responsible corporate policy: "For the sake of consumer protection, we had our online shop certified according to the quality labels Trusted Shop, the TÜV Süd sa@fer-shopping label and the Geprüfter Online-Shop (EHI) label as a proof of secure and customer-friendly shopping. In order to comply with top quality standards for printed products, we have certified our production according to Process Standard Offset (PSO). With the eco-labels FSC and PEFC, Onlineprinters GmbH is now one of only a handful of online print shops certified in environmental protection. "Protecting the climate and the environment is a challenge and a chance for us to show new economic ways for environmentally sustainable developments in technology and production processes and to implement these developments consistently", Wondrak comments on the sustainable company development.
