About the OUR DAVID
Set in small-town America, OUR DAVID follows uneasy neighbors Velma and Clyde. Velma is a widowed grandmother and longtime resident. Clyde recently moved to town from New York City, looking for solitude after losing his lover and most of his friends to AIDS. The two widows quickly learn to distrust one another, and express it in a series of tragic and hilarious alternating monologues. That is until a tacky statue of Michelangelo's David surprisingly brings them together.
About Carrie Preston
Carrie Preston stars in the dark comedy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild nominated HBO series “True Blood.” However, Preston’s breakout role as “Miranda” on the Broadway production of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest,” led to roles in major television series such as “Lost” and “Desperate Housewives” along with acclaimed 2008 films such as Woody Allen’s VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA, the Oscar nominated TRANSAMERICA, the Daisy 3 Pictures’ (her production company) film READY? OK!, and the acclaimed South by Southwest Audience Award-winning film for “Best Feature Film” and Grand Jury Award for “Best Ensemble Cast,” THAT EVENING SUN. Always up for the next challenge, she stars in BAG OF HAMMERS due out in August and she directed and produced her upcoming film THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID starring Anne Heche and Alia Shawkat.
