Mettler-Toledo Thornton Releases New Water Calculator Application for Mobile Devices
Press release from: METTLER TOLEDO
Bedford, Massachusetts – June 1, 2011 – Mettler-Toledo Thornton, Inc. announced the release of a new water calculator application for smart phones and mobile devices. The application enables water specialists to perform water calculations and unit conversions using an iPhone®, iPod touch®, iPad®, or Android-compatible smart phone or mobile device.
This FREE application calculates:
• Conductivity, resistivity and total dissolved solids (TDS) conversions
• Flow and flow velocities for various pipe sizes
• Temperature versus resistivity and conductivity of ultrapure water
• Sample and process flow rate unit conversions
• Temperature conversion between °C and °F
“This proprietary Water Calculator is a convenient tool for water specialists on-the-go,” says Thornton product manager Christie Martin. “It’s especially useful in pharmaceutical water, microelectronics or pure steam applications, where a technician may be working remotely and needs a quick, reliable calculation of flow, temperature or conductivity of pure water. Thornton’s mobile phone Water Calculator app incorporates all the functionality of the widely-used Thornton paper slide rule, right on an iPhone or Android device.”
The free mobile “app” provides convenient access to Thornton’s website and contains handy links to contact global technical support directly from the user’s mobile device.
Mettler Toledo’s Water Calculator Application is available for download at no charge from iTunes® App Store or Android Market.
