New Innov-X Portable XRFs debut at SAE World Congress*
Press release from: Innov-X Systems
PR Agency: Armada Group

Innov-X's new X50 MobilLab ™ XRF offers a higher level of power and performance not possible in smaller handheld XRF’s.
• X-50 high-powered, mobile XRF: the ultimate benchtop XRF featuring 10X or more the power of handhelds now in a mobile package.
• New Ultra-rugged handheld alloy analyzer – a totally sealed, weatherproof unit without a PDA.
• Addition of Al, Si and Mg analysis with a patent-pending internal vacuum for handheld XRF – still the most portable XRF in the world – available in the classic PDA or the sealed Ultra Rugged.
Positive Materials Identification (PMI) & Power, Petrochemical, Metals & Aerospace: PMI is vital for materials management. XRF tests can prevent alloy mix-up problems. Cast, forged, or wrought parts, fasteners, and other components must be carefully identified for grade and chemistry to ensure compatibility with specifications.
• Fast, precise analysis of difficult grade separations 304, 321, P91, many low-alloy steels.
• Flow-accelerated Corrosion (FAC): the best handheld for low Cr measurements (down to 0.02% in carbon steels) for FAC concerns.
• Multiple, fully editable grade library standards for fast comparisons to published specifications – UNS, SME, Mil Spec
• Simple, fast data download with confirmatory spectra
• Removable handle to test through insulation ports, other hard-to-reach areas.
• Engineered for in-service PMI, proven performance on surface temperatures up to 900F.
• Print Material Test Reports quickly, easily
• Original test data fully encrypted to avoid tampering
• NEW: Mg, Al, Si analysis now available
Innov-X’s breakthrough design uses an x-ray tube in a compact unit. The Ultimate in Customer Choice: The Classic Removable PDA model or the Totally Sealed Internal Electronics model. Both models offer the signature Innov-X Superior Ergonomic design for performance, ruggedness, portability and versatility required for tough field applications.
• The lightest weight, smallest, and best-balanced handheld XRF.
• Bright, color display that is easy to read in any lighting conditions - even direct sunlight.
• Touch trigger. No uncomfortable triggers to squeeze and hold. Comfortable “deadman” trigger also.
• Dual display: Angled front display plus rear display for easy viewing of test results.
• Reduce regulatory baggage – no wipe tests, minimal travel restrictions, easy to transport.
• Eliminates the liability of isotope control, improper use, theft and disposal.
Either Innov-X Handheld XRF system is configured with a standard package of up to 25 elements including precious metals. They provide alloy chemistry and grade ID in seconds. Customers may specify additional or replacement elements at any time, provided they can be measured by handheld XRF. See a demo at: www.innovxsys.com/interior//themes/IX/graphics/demo/demo/...
For analyzing coated or plated parts, Innov-X offers a new state-of-the-art handheld analyzer that measures multilayer coating thickness and composition. This is ideal for performing “process” readings at a plating line, and for QC or lab analysis. A unique batch mode calculates the average thickness from a batch of small parts with one measurement. Its portability enables testing of large sample pieces, such as rolls of metal, at a factory or in the field. It can identify the substrate alloy as well as coating material. Use it for measuring the Au, Pd, or Ni plating on parts. Use it for testing Cu, Zn, Cd, Cr/Ni, Mo, and Sn plating on various substrates. The unit enables fast, easy alloy sorting and alloy identification for inventory/materials management.
Detect challenging elements at significantly lower detection levels, using the high power mobile capabilities of the new X50 MobilLab ™ unit. The X-50 mobile XRF offers a higher level of power and performance not possible in smaller handheld XRF’s. Operating at up to 25 times the power of a handheld XRF, the X-50 is an industrial-grade XRF offering the performance of traditional tabletop XRF systems while maintaining Innov-X Systems signature XRF portability. The X-50 is hardened for in-field use, unlike traditional benchtop XRF. It goes anywhere – it can be operated by battery or AC power. Its onboard factory calibrations make it exceptionally easy to use by non-technical operators. The underlying software can includes a full-featured analytical and user calibration package for advanced technical users.

Innov-X Systems is a vital new force in the x-ray fluorescence (XRF) industry. Their systems perform fast, accurate chemical analysis in seconds to identify, differentiate and quantify most materials by elemental composition. Founded in 2001, they pioneered handheld XRF instrumentation using a miniature x-ray tube rather than radioactive isotopes. Innov-X has rapidly expanded into many other XRF areas. These include the new SEA-Mate™ System for marine on-board fluids analysis; MobiLab X50, a portable XRF that in comparison to handheld units, delivers higher power and superior performance throughout the periodic table. Innov-X has also taken a leading position in custom XRF and online/automated XRF instrumentation.
With R&D and manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Innov-X has offices in Europe (the Netherlands), and Asia (Hong Kong). They maintain sales and service alliances in Canada, the Middle East, Latin America and worldwide. Service, installation and training is available in over 100 countries.
