Moodle is a free web application that educators can use to create effective online learning sites. It is designed to help educators create online courses with a focus on interaction and collaborative construction of content. Its open source license and modular design allows any developer to create additional modules and features.

The book starts off by instructing users how to set up Moodle in their company. They will be able to use lesson modules to create training for sales, end users and will also be able to set up forums to create product and service user communities. The book then goes to teach readers to upload a feedback form for internal collaboration and decision making and create a company intranet to promote peer-to-peer based collaboration.

Readers will understand how to extend Moodle with open source tools such as Mahara, Jasper Reports, and Alfresco. They will realize how to theme their site with a color scheme, company logo, and language packs. Towards the end, readers will be able to empower their employees with all the information they need to be productive and more integrated members of the company.

With each chapter including case studies from well-known companies that have already implemented Moodle, this book is ideal for anyone responsible for training, recruitment, or maintaining guidelines within their company. No previous experience with Moodle is necessary as the examples are easy to follow. This book is out now and available from Packt. For more information, please visit: link.packtpub.com/Pnx7LS
