After television host & law professor, Dr. Leigh-Davis, was repeatedly told her history trivia was a favorite, her television show changed its focus and a spinoff is in the works.

Dr. Leigh-Davis’ television show “Profiles in Philanthropy” is currently airing in syndication. What pleasantly surprised Dr. Leigh-Davis, was viewers’ positive response to the segment “On This Very Week,” where Dr. Leigh-Davis tells viewers about major events in history. “Actually, ‘On This Very Week,’ was an idea for a television show of its own, which was never produced. Now that it is becoming popular, I am optimistic it will soon become its own successful television show,” elaborated Dr. Leigh-Davis at the post-production party for the latest episode of “Profiles in Philanthropy.”

The viewing audience for “Profiles in Philanthropy” was drastically increased when news spread that Dr. Leigh-Davis had conducted the final interview of prominent Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Frank Ryan, who was in a fatal car accident in August of 2010. The new viewers did not hesitate to express their enjoyment of the segment “On This Very Week.” Dr. Leigh-Davis is an avid history buff and co-created the segment where she describes historical events which happened on this same week, in year’s past. For instance, for the week of August 15th through August 21st, Dr. Leigh-Davis narrated while pictures and film footage were displayed depicting the beginning of Woodstock on August 15th, 1969; and Elvis’ death on August 16th, 1977; among other historical events.

“On This Very Week” is not only airing as a segment on the television show “Profiles in Philanthropy;” an audio version is now available on iTunes, and also, is being broadcast on the radio airways in syndication. Recently, Dr. Leigh-Davis created an RSS feed for “On This Very Week,” and it is also being broadcast on Dr. Leigh-Davis’ official website, as well as, other websites. “We are in the process of creating a downloadable Google gadget for ‘On This Very Week,’ which will provide weekly updates on historical information,” stated Dr. Leigh-Davis.

As a result of the increasing popularity of “On This Very Week,” a spinoff is in process for a 30-minute television show, hosted by Dr. Leigh-Davis. The format of the new show will remain the same, with Dr. Leigh-Davis telling viewers what happened on the present date, in history. However, there will be a lot more historical information, more facts, more photos, and more film footage. Dr. Leigh-Davis will continue to host “Profiles in Philanthropy” concurrently with the new television show, “On This Very Week.”

Dr. Leigh-Davis is a law professor, anthropologist, retired attorney, and popular legal analyst and legal correspondent, who regularly appears on NBC news, CNN and Fox news. Additionally, Dr. Leigh-Davis is also a journalist with syndicated columns in several newspapers; host of the weekly radio show “The Real Deal;" and the former host of the Court TV television show, “The Court is in Session.” Recently, Dr. Leigh-Davis launched the skin care line: "40 + and Fabulous."
