(openPR) - West Palm Beach, FL – March 26, 2007 – Today members of Daniel Imperato's 2008 presidential campaign announced that Daniel Imperato is successfully recovering from major eye surgery.
Last Thursday Imperato underwent lidtosis surgery to remove the excess scar tissue from his left eye.
Several years ago, Imperato was violently mugged and attacked in London. The incident left him partially blind in his left eye along with a severe scar that left excess skin hanging in front of his left eye.
Over the past several years Imperato has had major cataract and corneal treatment to help correct the problem.
The condition became very visible during campaign television appearances and Imperato felt that he had to be in the best of health for his run in 2008.
Tony Hernandez, the campaign's senior coordinator, released a statement from Daniel Imperato.
"Mr. Imperato wants to thank everyone for their support. The phone messages, the emails, and the entire outcry of support for him were all overwhelming. He is currently resting and looks to make a successful recovery. We ask everyone to continue to keep Mr. Imperato in their prayers, and to continue to support his mission for America."
