(openPR) - DALLAS – After a 10-week trial, a Harris County jury entered a take-nothing verdict in favor of Jackson Walker client Stewart Title Guaranty de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. in a $55 million title insurance suit involving 16 properties in Tulum, Mexico. The April 29 decision was a significant victory for Stewart Title in a case involving complex factual and legal issues, including matters of Mexican law.

Based on the evidence, the jury ruled that the plaintiffs take nothing. Both Jackson Walker Partner John Koepke and Stewart Title were pleased with the outcome of a long and difficult case.

Mr. Koepke said, “This was a unique, high-stakes, high-profile case, lasting 29 days before the jury with nearly as many days in court on evidentiary and legal issues, due to issues of Mexican law. This was a true team effort between JW and the client representatives, who were actively involved in the day-to-day trial management. We appreciate the client's assistance and support and are pleased that the jury understood our case themes and viewed the evidence in our favor.”
