(openPR) - New York. May 11, 2011

Keynote speaker: Professor Philip J. Smith, Director, Institute for Clean and Secure Energy (ICSE), University of Utah.

On June 28 and 29, CD-adapco will host its STAR American Conference 2011 in Chicago, Illinois at the Chicago Marriott O’Hare. This exclusive event will bring together engineers from around the world and explore the latest developments in engineering simulation technology.

Today, CD-adapco proudly announced its Keynote speaker for the conference, Professor Philip J. Smith, Director, Institute for Clean and Secure Energy (ICSE), University of Utah. Professor Smith will discuss the role of simulation in accelerating the deployment of clean and secure energy technologies.

“The largest barrier to the deployment of clean and secure energy is the uncertainty in the quantification of risk. We are delighted to have Professor Smith as our keynote, and look forward to learning from an internationally respected expert, as to how simulation can help unlock a future based around clean and secure energy,” said Bill Clark, CD-adapco’s Global Vice President.

The event will also host over twenty presentations from esteemed industry leaders, industrial technology partners and CD-adapco’s engineering simulation specialists. Participating companies include, but are not limited to, Argonne National Labs, ATA Engineering, Boeing Commercial Aircraft, Bombardier, Caitin, Inc., Cameron, Chrysler Group LLC, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NAVSEA), RADIX Engenharia e Software, The Dow Chemical Company, University of Alabama, Birmingham and Valeo Inc. The full agenda will be released in the coming weeks.

Presenters will discuss the ways in which engineering simulation technology can be deployed to solve the toughest industrial problems, reducing costs and empowering innovation. They will explore their CAE processes in detail and demonstrate the tangible benefits realized through adopting an automation philosophy for CAE simulation. Presentation topics can be found on the event website at www.cd-adapco.com/minisites/us2011/agenda.html.

In addition to the conference, attendees may choose to participate in a series of workshops and demonstrations. These practical, in-depth demonstrations and “hands-on” sessions will display first-hand how easy it is to get useful engineering insight from new software tools and user environments. Also, CD-adapco’s leading simulation experts will be on hand to discuss key simulation technology advancements and answer questions.

Overall, attendees will learn the secret of how to use CAE more effectively in their organization; perform more simulations for less effort and begin exploring the whole design spaces rather than a few points. They will leave the event with a complete understanding of the business benefits of simulation and realistic implementation strategies for their organization.
