Experts Prepare the HIV AIDS 2012 Conference

The world leading AIDS experts will gather for the 2012 ISHEID conference in Marseille, France, May 23-25, 2012. Meanwhile, interviews of leaders in the field are published monthly on the conference website http://www.isheid.com/en/committees/interviews.html.

Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, May 09, 2011 -- The International HIV AIDS ISHEID (International Symposium on HIV & Emerging Infectious Diseases) is the leading biennial conference in the field held in France. It usually attracts more than 1,200 participants from all over the world. The 2012 edition is expected to welcome 2,000 attendees, including biologists, clinicians, policymakers, and patients’ representatives.

The topics of the conference will cover current HIV-related issues from basic to social sciences, via prevention, therapy and the search for a vaccine and a cure.

Starting last month, the conference website publishes monthly interviews from key opinion leaders in HIV care.

Last month, Professor Hans-Jurgen Stellbrink from Hamburg, Germany, opened the series explaining the current developments in antiretroviral therapy.

This month, Professor Jose Gatell from Barcelona, Spain, explains the many changes which occurred over the last 10 years since he chaired the IAS World AIDS Conference in 2002.
