PublishAmerica Presents Battle Scars Fade: But Never Heal

Press release from: PublishAmerica
(openPR) - Frederick, MD March 22, 2007 -- PublishAmerica is proud to present Battle Scars Fade: But Never Heal by Sgt. Jerry R. Gandy, of Laurel, MS. The American public was totally unaware of the real events that took place during the Vietnam War. The media sometimes exaggerated the facts about the battles and missions. Sgt. Gandy feels sure that most of the fighting soldiers in Vietnam did not write home and give all the details about their daily lives in combat. Fear and guilt are two things that most people would not want to share with friends and loved ones. The names used in this book are fictional, and the dates and places may not be totally accurate. The events of the missions and battles have been preserved through memories and battle-scarred flashbacks. Sgt. Gandy has written this book with the prayer that it will open the eyes of the American people about the real Vietnam War and what the combat soldiers endured for them. Maybe today’s children will look at the American flag with pride and appreciate its past warriors.

Sgt. Jerry R. Gandy was born in Laurel, Mississippi, in 1950. He presently resides on his childhood land with his wife, Faye. They have raised three beautiful daughters: Pollyanna Gandy, Shellie Robinson, and Ashley Jensen. He spent 14 years putting together this book for his family.
