Physical Therapy Software Maker Opens Silicon Valley Office
Press release from: Physical therapy software company
(openPR) - WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, CANADA- Prognition Corp., which makes Mavenlive physical therapy software (mavenlive.com/), recently opened an office in the Silicon Valley to attract interest in the knowledge engine used in its exercise software (www.mavenlive.com/physical-therapy-exercises/list.html).
The office opened in January in the Plug and Play Tech Center, a technology incubator that houses nearly 300 startup companies, according to the center's website.
Chris Metcalfe, Mavenlive's vice president of technical development, works from the satellite office, says Dr. Jay Winburn, Prognition's president.
"We opened the office there to gain exposure in an area that has much to offer in terms of technology resources," Winburn says. "We want to continue to improve our rehab exercise software technology, but we hope to connect with people who see our company's vision, and introduce us to others interested in finding additional applications for its use, other than limiting it to the physiotherapy software (www.mavenlive.com/benefits) field."
Rather than seeking investments, Prognition seeks strategic alliances- other software vendors the company can integrate its platform into, Metcalfe says.
"We want to identify areas where we can add value to products," Metcalfe says. "Everything IT-related happens here in the Valley; the people you need to get in front of have their headquarters here, so being here creates an opportunity to form those alliances."
Long-term, Prognition will open a permanent office in the Silicon Valley.
When it comes to capitalizing on changes occurring in healthcare, Metcalfe says it feels as though Prognition and its exercise prescription software (www.emailwire.com/release/48382-More-US-Clinics-Using-Mav...) is 'a bit ahead of the curve."
"There are electronic documentation changes coming to health care," Metcalfe says. "Just being located here now when there's a big revolution going on in how healthcare is delivered is ideal for us."

Comments about openPR
OpenPR ist the nicest and most clearly laid out PR platform I have seen to this day. The press releases are displayed very nicely and clearly and without any unnecessary frills.
The updates are fast and the finished release looks appealing and is clearly legible.
Even with 16 years of experience one discovers new things from time to time.
Congratulations!
Gabriele Ketterl,Director Marketing & PR, Menads
