PublishAmerica Presents Train #50 by Pradeep Gunawardana and Bhadraji Mahinda Jayatilaka
Press release from: PublishAmerica
(openPR) - Frederick, MD March 17, 2007 -- PublishAmerica is proud to present Train #50: Tsunami Disaster by Los Angeles, California based authors Pradeep Gunawardana and Bhadraji Mahinda Jayatilaka. Train #50 is based on true incidents that happened on the day of the great Tsunami disaster in 2004. The train started from Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, southbound with 2,000 passengers on board; unforeseen events led to a disaster where most passengers perished. While the guard on the train saved many lives, the controller in Colombo saved five other passenger trains that day. There were people of different races and faiths on board, and as their destinies collided, prayers of many faiths intermingled. The aftermath and the survivors’ struggles are vividly explained.
Pradeep Gunawardana had been the Consul General of Sri Lanka in California. This book is based on his strong background of social and political carrier. His influence towards social enhancement has been rewarded on many occasions. Currently, he is the President of Center for Democracy, Sri Lanka.
Author of over eighty books, Bhadraji Mahinda Jayatilaka is a prolific writer, artist and composer. Winner of the D.R. Wijewardena Award for best Novel, he also won the State Literary Award in Sri Lanka in 2005 for best translation.
PublishAmerica is the home of 20,000 talented authors. PublishAmerica is a traditional publishing company whose primary goal is to encourage and promote the works of new, previously undiscovered writers. Like more mainstream publishers, PublishAmerica pays its authors advances and royalties, makes its books available in both the United States and Europe through all bookstores, and never charges any fees for its services. PublishAmerica offers a distinctly personal, supportive alternative to vanity presses and less accessible publishers.
