Roy Enjoyed Talking With His Mother On The Air
(openPR) - Popular Weekend Radio Personality Roy Gray Thanks Mom For Helping Hold The Exceptionally Blessed Gray/Toliver/Campbell/Hicks Family Together Amid Grief And Other Challenges

"I believe my mother, Mildred Myers, is the proverbial tower of strength, built on a strong Christian foundation. She is always encouraging our huge, diverse and divinely blessed family to continue to enhance our relationships with God, and to eat better and exercise regularly, and I thank her for that," said Popular Weekend Radio Personality Roy Gray, adding, "My mother and I play tennis on a regular basis and she is a good player and is in much better shape than yours truly.

"So, as we drove away from the funeral and repass for my dear Aunt Clara, sharing memories of our loved one, while thanking God for the opportunity to embrace many long-time-no-see relatives, including Uncle JR, whose beautifully booming baritone voice still makes my ears ring, Uncle Earl, Aunt Linda, my sister Debbie, Cousin Keven, Phyllis, April, Aunt May, Thelmarie, 'World's Youngest Aunt' Sandie, Pastor Warryn Campbell SR, Warryn 'Baby Dubb" Campbell JR, Aunt Jean, Aunt Needa, who has the bubbly Christian personality of Booking Agent Extraordinaire' Gail Timmons of Gospel music's 'East/West Coast Connection' (Gail has booked the great Paul Beasley for an upcoming spotlight radio interview) Joi, Darlene, Joyce and scores of other first cousins, aunts, uncles and more; my mother began sharing her always welcome lecture on exercise and eating right, a requirement if I am to continue to make progress in my belly-fat fight, and as we began to go over our tennis-practice schedule and discovered a conflict with my radio commitments, I advised my incredibly athletic mother that I could do tennis if I could put her on my Saturday Night radio guest list, which included Multi-Talented Parliament Records Recording Artist Emory (pronounced E-More-Eee), who I think is worth every penny his record company is pouring into his talent, as his spiritually-rooted singing gift will catch the ear of the most discerning inspirational music fans, while his marketing-friendly look could help sell a ton of product to the all-important youth market. So, Parliament Records, I encourage you to break the bank on this unique vocalist.

"Anyway, Mama appeared on the air with me and my beautiful personal public relations assistant Kathy Hanson wanted me to make it known that, 'Your mother is an (exercise) star!'

"While I'm at it, to the person that was kind enough to write me a letter requesting to witness Warryn's eventual appearance on the air with me, I want to say:

"It may have to be a telephone interview first, but look, Warryn and I are blood, which means that eventually we see each other at one family gathering or another when our busy schedules permit. So, because Warryn and I are both in Gospel, the interviews will come naturally, sooner or later," said Gray, whose son Roy Gray JR will join him in a short radio bit to air this month and next called "That's Deep," created years ago by the junior Gray.

Gray, who is also an independent voice-over artist and cousin of "Mary Mary" Super Producer Warryn "Baby Dubb" Campbell, hosts the popular "Simply Gospel" music program, which airs live on theICN.Com (The International Christian Network) every Saturday Night at 6 PST.

Gray is always looking for your help tracking down the following stories and more:

1. A portrait of a family living on a dollar a day

2. A day in the life of an AIDS patient raising kids

3. An investigation of people being sold into slavery in places like Ghana

4. A profile of a person who fixes up old furniture/houses for new immigrants

5. New business ventures in places like rural Mexico.

6. People helping to save the planet
