Lap Timing Solution Provides Real-Time Lap Performance Feedback

Ottawa, ON, March 19, 2007 – The award winning VR2 performance gauge now features a unique Lap Delta display system. The Lap Delta display lets a racer know exactly how their current lap progress compares to the previous lap by showing the difference between the relative lap positions, down to 1/10th of a second. This information is displayed in real-time, while racing.

The VR2 gauge logs all data for an entire race at a programmable sampling rate. This includes gear changes, RPM, distance, speed, laps and time. The VR2s advanced architecture allows the analysis of previously logged data while continuing to record current data.

While racing, the VR2 takes the current lap time, speed and distance and compares them to the data logged from the previous lap after the same amount of time. The difference (delta) is calculated and displayed on screen. An example Lap Delta value of -0.3s indicates that the driver is currently 0.3 seconds faster than they were at the same spot during the last lap. Likewise, +0.2s indicates the driver is currently 0.2 seconds slower than they were at the same spot in the last lap.

This information is invaluable for determining if the lap pace is off and when it starts to slip or if time is being made up. Most importantly, the information is calculated and displayed while racing, so that corrective measures can be taken during the race. The Lap Delta gives the driver a real-time running summary of exactly how much better or worse their current lap performance is.

The VR2 features lap timing solutions for every scenario on any track in the world. It features timing options to suit every degree of required accuracy, ease of operation, and for every budget:
• A manual pushbutton indicates the end of each lap with the push of a VR2 button or a optional handlebar mounted button. You can achieve very good accuracy and do not require an infra red beacon or receiver.
• The VR2 can learn the distance around a given track and automatically time laps each time that distance is covered.
• For the ultimate in accurate and fully automatic lap timing users can get the optional VIR lap timer receiver. The VIR is an infra-red receiver that works with all major IR beacons.

Included with every system is the advanced VAS software that allows the analysis, graphing, saving and printing of all race data. It can compare laps so you can view different shift points, corner entry and exit speeds and when gear changes were made.
