TMI Latin students score at state

All 11 students of TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas who attended the Texas State Junior Classical League convention earned state recognition at the annual event, held March 25-26 at Atascosita High School in Humble.
Susannah Wright won first place in Roman History Level II and earned the highest score at all levels in the Pentathlon, a five-part test on Latin language and classical knowledge, for which she received a summa cum laude (highest honors) distinction.
Other TMI students who won Top 10 medals in subject tests include: Mario Cajic, third place in Reading Comprehension Level IV; Jonathan Clark, third place, Roman Life Level II and fourth place, Reading Comprehension Level II; Alex Hager, sixth place, Grammar Advanced Level IV ; and Stephen Santos, sixth place, Roman Life. In the Pentathlon, Clark and Christopher Pachulski also earned summa cum laude; Kendall Bohne, Hager, Emily Kercheville and Santos received maxima cum laude; Cajic, Falon Little and Kevin Nash, magna cum laude; and Jake Fox, cum laude.
The TMI team was among 97 schools represented by nearly 2,000 students from all over the state. Texas State Junior Classical League is a branch of the National Junior Classical League, an organization dedicated to the study of the Latin and Greek languages and classical cultures.
