Working with the climate consultancy ClimatePartner, Folienprint RAKO GmbH continues to steadily lead the way toward responsible and sustainable corporate management. Using the CO2 calculator created by ClimatePartner, the company is able to determine the CO2 emissions from packaging and offer customers climate neutral solutions.

The CO2 calculator’s function is based on Folienprint’s CO2 footprint, which reflects the CO2 emitted by the company’s operation. ClimatePartner used this as a basis to configure a CO2 calculator, which can be used to determine the CO2 emitted by packaging solutions. Upon customer request, emissions can be offset by supporting certified climate protection projects.

As a leading provider of shrink sleeves and flexible packaging, the people at Folienprint also work within their own company to optimize all processes along the value creation chain in order to, in turn, be in a position to offer customers efficient and climate neutral services.

Folienprint is the first company in the RAKO Group to supplement their environmental management with a suitable CO2 calculator. “With our CO2 calculator, customers receive a much higher level of transparency compared to other packaging options – while price does continue to be highly relevant to our customers, long-term considerations also have to be made for resource- and energy-conserving measures” says Doris Erhardt. In doing so, Folienprint especially works with alternative packaging materials, such as regenerative raw materials as well as new advancements.

There is already a large number of customers who have expressed great interest in Folienprint’s carbon footprint and wish to see clear transparency in the CO2 calculation implemented by Folienprint.

Folienprint is one of the first companies in the sector that can present a transparent CO2 calculation for flexible packaging and shrink sleeves. Climate neutral production is not free of emissions, but can be effectively compensated in another place by investing in the corresponding climate protection projects! The focus here is on regenerative energies as well as reforestation projects.

Thus, Folienprint is expanding their own environmental management efforts and will be directing production toward sustainable solutions in the future under the motto: Don’t talk sustainable, act sustainable!
