Fresh, clear and green – HaCon launches new website in

Hannover. In time for spring the web-presence of the software company HaCon got a facelift: With its fresh design, it offers visitors a clear structure with lots of information on timetables and transport solutions.

HaCon is divided into three business segments which are also reflected in the structure of the page: The timetable information system HAFAS, the timetable construction and management system TPS and Consulting. This clear organisation allows for optimal representation of the solutions to the customers.

In addition, a newly created section on the company provides information about those behind HaCon, gives insight into the company's history and highlights career opportunities. A press room has been added which contains – in addition to current news and downloads – contact persons as well as corporate and product brochures for download. Furthermore, the company’s references are listed and can easily be filtered by product and by country.

The modern, completely redesigned website reflects the innovative strengths of HaCon and makes it an emotional experience. "We want to offer visitors a pleasant and informative online experience. Not just the new structure contributes to this. We have rather made sure that we provide comprehensive information", said HaCon-Managing Director Michael Frankenberg. “Visitors can find details about our products and services on a modern and intuitive website that was set up according to the latest standards and is based on advanced technologies."

Getting there with just a few clicks
New is the introduction of the products on the homepage. Company news and jobs can be directly accessed from home with one click. Portlets on the deeper sites provide context-sensitive information about products and services. Navigation is easy, either in the left and top of the page or additionally via the footer which represents a concise version of the sitemap and provides additional guidance.

For the site relaunch, HaCon has reverted to in-house expertise. This includes the web design, the technical implementation and the editorial design. "We have demonstrated our design expertise with our HAFAS timetable information solutions especially with the mobile applications, such as HAFAS Mobile apps for Android, for the iPhone and for tablet PCs", says Michael Frankenberg. According to the Managing Director, the site will be continuously enhanced. In addition to the planned content extensions, the integration of social media and films are on the agenda. The new website is based on the content management system (CMS) Plone and replaces the previous HTML-based presentation. Users benefit from the integrated full-text search.

The complete review of the company's website joins in the redesign of the external communications of HaCon in the last two years. This had so far focused mainly on print media in the form of company and product brochures, and a regularly published customer newsletter.
