New UHF RFID Mid Range Reader from metraTec
Press release from: metraTec RFID Solutions
(openPR) - RFID specialist metraTec broadens its UHF product portfolio and presents its new UHF RFID Mid Range Reader „PulsarMX“ at the EuroID trade show in Berlin. Besides the compact dimensions of only 10 x 13 x 5 cm the device's low price stands out, which should make new RFID applications economical.
The read range of the PulsarMX is specified at 3 – 4 m depending on the antenna and transponder used. The focus of the device will be on applications with a small number of tags, such as box and container management, reading data from sensor tags for cool chain management as well as identifying vehicles. With a read rate of more than 50 tags per second the reader can also be used as a scanner on conveyor belts.
„With the DwarfG2 OEM module and the DeskID UHF reader we presented last November, we brought two short range UHF products to the market, e.g. for use at the point of sale. But we still see a gap in the available product spectrum between these short range products and the typical UHF reader for logistics“, explains Klaas Dannen, VP of Sales at metraTec. „The PulsarMX was designed to close this gap and permit new applications that are just not cost-effective with the old devices.“
The PulsarMX is available directly from metraTec as well as selected distribution partners in Europe from now on. Included with the reader is an evaluation software, a free DLL as well as a complete protocol documentation to integrate the device into your own software.
metraTec develops, manufactures and sells RF hardware for the product segments „Identification“, „Localization“, “Communication” and „Wireless Power“. It serves a variety of industries, both with standard products as well as custom solutions. The customers are system integrators, OEM customers as well as research institutes world wide. The company was founded in 2005 and has its headquarter in Magdeburg, Germany.
