A tournament has started with cash prizes totaling 12,000 U.S. Dollars

Münster, Germany – 17th of March 2011 – The Looki Publishing GmbH invites players to participate in the tournament "Battle of Champions" for the award-winning browser game "Desert Operations" with cash prizes totaling 12,000 U.S. Dollars. This unique contest is being held in cooperation with the developer Playzo and invites the top 250 players from each of the international game worlds of "Desert Operations" to compete in an intense face off against each other.

"The feedback of the players and the press to our competition has been a very positive one," stated Andreas Planer, CEO of Looki Publishing GmbH. "We are pleased that Desert Operations has such a very strong appeal to the international market." The worldwide tournament will be held until the 31st of May on a special server that was set up just for this event. The first place winner will receive a cash prize of 5,000 U.S. Dollars. The second winner will receive 2,500 and the third place winner 1,000 U.S. Dollars. Players that are able to battle their way into the ranks of fourth to tenth place, will be rewarded with 500 U.S. Dollars each.

"Desert Operations" is a strategy browser game that is part of the extensive portfolio of Looki. The globally distributed game "Desert Operations" won the the popular Audience Choice Award of "Browser Game of the Year 2011" in the category "Best Classic Game“ in February 2011.
