BBB and Coastal Federal Credit Union Partner to Help Consumers Protect Identity

RALEIGH, N.C. (March 16, 2011)—Better Business Bureau serving Eastern North Carolina (bbb.org) announces today that Coastal Federal Credit Union (coastal24.com) is serving as presenting sponsor of its “Secure Your ID” Day event on April 16, 2011. The local shredding event will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the CFCU headquarters on St. Albans Drive in Raleigh.

“Coastal was founded on the principal of ‘people helping people,’ and we work to improve the lives of our members, their families and the community,” says Sandra Glasson, vice president of member and community relations for Coastal. “We are proud to continue working with BBB on this great initiative and encourage everyone to use this event as an opportunity to protect themselves from identity theft.”

Supporting BBB builds upon a longtime CFCU commitment to being involved in the communities it serves. This is the sixth “Secure Your ID” Day event Coastal has sponsored and the third time hosting the event at its headquarters.

Local shredding partners will provide free, on-site document shredding during the event. Participants are encouraged to bring up to three boxes or bags of documents that have been removed from binders.
