World Premiere for SeeTech® Eye Control: now available for Mac and Linux

The German manufacturer Humanelektronik will show its SeeTech® Eye Gaze System working with a Mac OS X at today’s CSUN conference in San Diego.

The new generation of eye control processes the complete image data within its build-in camera, only sending the relevant mouse data to the computer, laptop or tablet connected; not needing any further computing time, it is now possible to connect the eye control to almost any operating system.

Using the on-screen keyboard KeyStrokes® from dutch manufacturer AssistiveWare B.V., SeeTech® eye control provides a communication system that many Mac users with servere disabilities have been waiting for.

KeyStrokes® includes important features for disabled computer users such as word prediction and an editable dictionary. It allows full control of all Mac programs and games. Furthermore it offers audio and visual feedback as well as the use of symbols for children.

Humanelektronik’s engineers are proud of their development: “Many of our customers with progressive diseases such as Lou-Gehrig’s-Disease or multiple sclerosis are used to their own computer systems. Now we can enable them to keep using their systems with the help of eye control. No matter what operating system, may it be Mac, Windows or Linux” says managing director Stefan Schaaf. According to co-developer Dirk Pachael from Dipax, a company specialized on digital image processing, SeeTech® eye control is also ready for systems such as Android: ”The system offers an huge potential of new possibilities.”

SeeTech® eye control is a powerful communication tool for people with ALS, multiple sclerosis, muscle weakness,locked-in-syndrome, servere paraplegia or severe spasticity.

SeeTech® is available in the US from EnableMart, a division of Manufacturers Resource Network, Inc.
