One card, many possibilities
Press release from: IXXAT Automation GmbH
(openPR) - Cost-effective and flexible low-profile PCIexpress card for
CAN, LIN and other bus systems
With the new CAN-IB100/PCIe IXXAT is treading new ways in terms of field bus interface cards. The passive CAN PCIexpress card is based on a modern and highly modular concept. Due to this, it is very flexible and versatile, and all this at a very low price. Besides the standard version, the interface card is also available as low-profile board.
The CAN-IB100/PCIe is available with up to four CAN channels and can be deli-vered with galvanic isolated interfaces. For use in the automotive field the high-speed CAN channels can optionally be switched to low-speed CAN via software. In addition, the card can be equipped with up to four LIN or K-Line interfaces. To use the card in applications which require a higher pre-processing performance, e.g. intelligent data handling or active filtering of reception or transmission data onboard, the interface can be equipped with a powerful 32 bit microcontroller system.
The modular architecture of the interface board enables also the extension with customer specific interfaces using piggyback modules. This allows a versatile usage of the CAN-IB100/PCIe, both in industrial and in automotive applications.
For the connection to the PC, IXXAT delivers the card with its proven VCI driver. The Windows driver supports all interfaces on the card and allows their usage both with customer specific programs or with the analysis and configuration tools from IXXAT. The VCI driver also supports all other PC interfaces offered by IXXAT, which enables the user to easily switch the type of interface without any adaptation of the customer application. In addition, drivers for the real-time Windows extensions RTX and InTime as well as for Linux are available.
IXXAT Automation is a leading provider of data communication products and services for the automation and automotive industries. The company focuses on industrial communication systems based on CAN (CANopen, DeviceNet), Ethernet (POWERLINK, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT, Modbus-TCP), and TCP/IP with the associated transport protocols. Solutions for the automotive industry are mainly based on CAN (diagnosis protocols, SAE J1939), FlexRay, and LIN. IXXAT is experienced in the development of safety-oriented hardware and software in compliance with IEC 61508. In addition to designing system solutions and developing hardware and software, IXXAT supports the implementation and application of CAN and TCP/IP communication systems and offers training and consultation. The extensive product portfolio includes interface cards, test systems, analytical tools, and protocol software. Currently, the company employs a staff of 80, mostly electronics engineers and computer scientists. IXXAT has an ISO 9001-certified quality management system.

Comments about openPR
OpenPR ist the nicest and most clearly laid out PR platform I have seen to this day. The press releases are displayed very nicely and clearly and without any unnecessary frills.
The updates are fast and the finished release looks appealing and is clearly legible.
Even with 16 years of experience one discovers new things from time to time.
Congratulations!
Gabriele Ketterl,Director Marketing & PR, Menads
