Desert Operations
Winner of the "Best Classic Online Game"

Münster, Germany – March 4, 2011 – The players have made their decision and have selected: Desert Operations (www.desert-operations.com) is the "Best Classic Browser Game" on the market. The popular strategy game based on resources, joining alliances and participating in devastating battles won the award for "Browser Game of the Year 2011" in the category “Best Classic Game”. In the selection process players have cast more than 24,000 of their votes to select the “Browser Game of the Year 2011”.

"The award emphasizes the impressive international popularity of Desert Operations", states Andreas Planer, CEO of the Looki Publishing GmbH, an affiliate of the next idea GmbH. "Ultimately it comes down to what the players like to play. And they have demonstrated this with their election. We would like to thank all the players and voters for their support." The award ceremony for “Browser Game of the Year" has been held annually since 2005 and is considered as one of the most popular international awards that a browser game can be nominated for and win.

Christoph Süß, CEO of the developer playzo, stated: "We are delighted in having Looki as an experienced partner by our side. The very positive and overwhelming response from the players of Desert Operations is the result of our highly successful collaboration, with which we will be implementing more successful and exciting projects such as Romadoria in the near future".

The strategic military online game Desert Operations is part of the extensive portfolio of the gaming portal Looki and is currently offered in 17 different languages.
