(openPR) - RALEIGH, N.C. (March 2, 2011) ― Brand communication and public relations firm Articulon (articulon.com) has been selected as communication agency of record for the 2011 St. Patty’s Run Green 8K (rungreen8k.com) for a third consecutive year. The event will take place on Saturday, March 5, 2011 in downtown Raleigh’s Moore Square. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Articulon will continue to build brand awareness of the event, concentrating on media relations. Since 2009, event participation has more than doubled. Last year, more than 1,300 participants helped raise $12,000 to fight MS. Participation is expected to top 2,000 this year.
“The Run Green 8K is a great way to get an early start to the St. Patrick’s Day celebration,” says Articulon principal, Cindy Stranad, APR. “We are proud to continue our collaboration on such a fun event celebrating a great cause.”
The race moves from Sunday to Saturday and will include a post-race block party hosted by Tir na nOg Irish Pub. The party will run until midnight and feature live music and a special menu. The first 1,800 registered 8K runners will receive a St. Patty’s Run Green pint glass and one complimentary beer. In addition, one out of every 50 finishers gets a pair of Drymax running socks or a one pound bag of Larry's Beans coffee, and every 100th 8K finisher will receive a free pair of running shoes courtesy of Brooks and Fleet Feet Sports, Raleigh.
Articulon remains committed to helping nonprofit organizations maximize public awareness and fundraising success. In addition to its work on the Run Green 8K, Articulon’s Cause and Sport practice group has partnered with Special Olympics North Carolina, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities, Hopeful Parents, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Eastern North Carolina Chapter, the Krispy Kreme Challenge, the Spastic Paraplegia Foundation, the Ridgewood Turkety Trot, Second Empire Grand-Prix and the National Kidney Foundation of North Carolina.
