Independent Film ‘Satin’ Prepares for Digital Distribution
‘Satin’ will be available nationwide March 1st, 2011 on major digital outlets including Cable VOD, Netflix, iTunes, Amazon.
Venice Beach, CA- February 14, 2010: Taking advantage of the new outlets for film, the independent feature Satin is coming to Cable Video On Demand, Netflix, iTunes, Hulu Plus, Xbox/ Zune Marketplace, Cinema Now, and Amazon in March 2011. Synopsis: A washed up Vegas lounge singer, Jack Satin (Hamilton von Watts), has no money, no job, and delusional aspirations of fame. When Jack is forced to leave Vegas, he packs up his convertible cruiser and hits the road for Atlantic City. Call it poetic justice, but his trusty classic dies in the desert and Jack is left stranded in the tiny town of Lost Springs. There, Jack stumbles across jazz legend turned mechanic, Doc Bishop (Robert Guillaume), and a dreamy eyed bartender, Lauren Wells (Melissa Joan Hart), who make him see there is more to life than marquee signs and packed rooms. Doc encourages Jack to explore his true love of music while Lauren provides the audience he has always craved. Just as Jack realizes the town has more to offer him than the bright lights of the big city, his Vegas past catches up with him -- what unfolds is comedy at the crossroads of life.
SATIN was directed by Chris Olness (Learning to Swim). Written by Chris Olness and Hamilton von Watts. Produced by Chip Bent, Chris Olness and Hamilton von Watts. Stars newcomer Hamilton von Watts as Jack Satin, and veteran actors Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Melissa and Joey), Robert Guillaume (Benson, Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, Sports Night) and Michael Cudlitz (Band of Brothers, Southland). The running time is approximately 84 minutes. This film is currently not rated.
