.BRAND and .COMPANY revolutionize the Internet

Press release from: Key-Systems

(openPR) - New domain extensions such as .COMPANY or .BRAND as well as generic and geographical extensions such as .SPORT or .BERLIN will change the Internet in the near future. This “revolution of namespaces” is a main focus of Key-Systems’ presence at CeBIT 2011. The German internet company will present their services at the joint booth of the federal state Saarland (hall 5, stand D02). The presentation emphasizes the corporate domain portal BrandShelter. With BrandShelter companies can protect their brands in the growing space of internet addresses or even register them as unique domain extension. The SkyWay DataCenter, that started operating at the beginning of 2011, is also part of Key-Systems’ CeBIT presentation.

St. Ingbert, 11-03-01. The number of domain extensions such as .COM or .DE will increase significantly in the near future. Starting presumably at the end of 2011, numerous companies and organizations may apply for such an own top-level domain (TLD). The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is responsible for the allocation of TLDs and is expecting more than 500 applicants – solely in the first application round. “Middle to long-term, this development will result in a completely innovative user behavior”, predicts Key-Systems’ CEO Alexander Siffrin.

Domain extensions such as .MUSIC, .HEALTH or .CAR will enhance a web site profile simply through the domain extension and hence facilitate its localization on the web: Web presence will become clear, direct and self-explanatory. The terms included in a domain name will improve the positioning of these domains in search engine results. Users may find web sites and offers faster and easier.
BrandShelter assists trademark owners in monitoring name spaces in the Internet to detect the use of brands and typos by a third party. The BrandShelter team also supports companies in realizing an own top-level domain such as .BRAND or .COMPANY. “An own TLD can become a worldwide advertising vehicle and thus the anchor of a company’s communication strategy”, adds Siffrin.

The modern TIER III SkyWay DataCenter is also a central part of Key-Systems’ CeBIT presentation. SkyWay, located at the Key-Systems headquarters in St. Ingbert (Germany), supplies worldwide companies and individuals with multi-purpose IT and telecommunication services. The product range covers colocation, hosting and root/managed servers. The SkyWay team relies on long-standing experience in the fields of Internet, networks and high availability solutions. As a full-service provider, SkyWay's team works together with the customer to develop individual project solutions.

The SkyWay DataCenter attaches great importance to environmental protection. The complete energy demand of the data center and the offices is supplied by the green electricity of the urban energy supplier. It is expected that the server room can be completely or predominantly cooled with the outdoor temperature three quarters of the year. By using the warm discharged air to heat the data center and adjacent office building, SkyWay demonstrates environmental responsibility.

SkyWay is a fully-owned subsidiary of Key-Systems GmbH. The TIER III data center is located in an ad-joining building of the Key-Systems headquarters in St. Ingbert, Germany (federal state: Saarland). Key-Systems’ CEO Alexander Siffrin is also CEO of SkyWay DataCenter GmbH. „As a certified TIER III data center, we offer an effective and redundant infrastructure that guarantees our customers highest availability for their IT“, describes Alexander Siffrin. „Specialized staff and individual service level agreements complement our services“.
