Premiere of the new Master recruitment fair in Germany was a great success
Press release from: border concepts GmbH
MASTER AND MORE fair in Münster (Germany) drew large crowds!
Premiere of the new Master recruitment fair in Germany was a great success
Bachelor students finally found a place to study for a master's degree, universities met motivated and ambitious students, and MASTER AND MORE is proud of a successful first fair. In total, about 1500 visitors acquainted themselves with their possibilities concerning master programmes at European academic institutions.
Brand-new and well-organised
The interest of the bachelor students can already be deduced from the large number of visitors at the fair. The discrepancy between available places in master programmes in Germany and the demand among students is the reason. “With the idea of organising our own master fair, we really hit the mark,” says Michael Lülf, managing partner at border concepts and organiser of the fair. “The fair covers the information needs of many German bachelor students, and universities and colleges have a new platform to present their institution and master programmes in Germany.” The MASTER AND MORE fair set its sights on remedying the frustrating search for a place in a master programme.
Tobias Baude (bachelor student at the Westfälische Wilhelms University of Münster, Germany)
“It’s great that this event was organized and that it was located in Münster! I have now seen the offerings of a lot of different universities at the fair which I never would have looked up by myself. I have not yet decided where to enroll for a master programme, but now I have a clearer picture of my options. The next step is to write letters of application and wait. Cross your fingers!”
Satisfied exhibitors
26 European universities, colleges and business schools presented about 700 different master programmes. The response of the exhibitors was consistently positive, and numerous enquiries have already been received for the upcoming MASTER AND MORE fairs.
Steen Weisner, Aarhus University
“[Some visitors] knew the programmes, and they had questions about specific programme details. Of course, there were also some students who were generally interested. Some others just liked the look of our stand, and they did not know that we are from another country – but that is how it is. All in all, it was a very positive surprise.”
Münster, Stuttgart, Berlin
Münster, as one of the largest university towns with 48,000 students, was deliberately selected for this first MASTER AND MORE fair. “Due to the positive response of exhibitors and visitors, three MASTER AND MORE fairs will take place in late autumn 2011,” Michael Lülf explains the plans for coming events in Münster, the German capital Berlin, and Stuttgart in southern Germany. Interested academic institutions can already register to participate in the next fairs by contacting the fair organiser (border concepts).
