NCR to highlight channel convergence at the Retail Business Technology Expo

Retailers will find NCR’s new converged retailing solutions to remove silos between digital and physical marketing channels on stand #600 at the Retail Business Technology Expo

LONDON – NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) will announce a range of new converged retailing – or NCR c-tailingTM – solutions on stand #600 at the Retail Business Technology Expo on March 16-17 in London. This includes an innovative new software solution for implementing price-based promotions faster and more consistently across multiple channels, as well as new personalisation and preference management offerings.

Consumers increasingly want to be able to use any combination of online, social networking, mobile and store channels simultaneously when they shop in their search for better value products. NCR has coined the term ‘c-tailing’ – or converged retailing – to define this new world. NCR c-tailing solutions help enable shoppers to review consistent and relevant information on product and price promotions, complete purchases, receive deliveries and process returns at the locations that are most convenient to them.

“In order to deliver the personalised and consistent shopping experience that today’s consumers demand, retailers must tear down the barriers that currently exist between their digital and physical channels,” said John Curnow, director of NCR’s retail and hospitality line of business in Northern Europe. “NCR c-tailing solutions will help retailers engage in interactive dialogue with shoppers across retail channels, based on their preferences and presence in a channel.”

NCR will be showcasing:

NCR Retail Transaction Services (RTS) – a store automation system combining the latest point-of-sale (POS) application and a suite of sales transaction services, which enable retailers to manage consistent product, price and promotions data across in-store, online and mobile customer touch points simply and cost effectively.

This is complemented by NCR Advanced Marketing Solution, a software solution that drives consumer loyalty by creating and executing unified promotions across all consumer touch points.
NCR Netkey Kiosk and Digital Signage – a single software platform that enables retailers to create, run and monitor multimedia content on both in-store digital advertising and self-service kiosk networks. This helps retailers roll out integrated marketing and sales campaigns quickly across multiple channels in a consistent and controlled way.
NCR SelfServ™ Checkout Mini – an ultra compact self-checkouts, which enables retailers to fit many more checkouts in-store to help reduce queuing. This is complemented by NCR’s new hybrid laser and imaging technology bi-optic scanner which enables consumers to scan bar codes on their mobile phones, along with traditional symbologies. This will enable shoppers to collect loyalty points using a loyalty card app on their mobile.
NCR Personalisation Platform - which helps improve the self-checkout experience for shoppers by enabling them to pre-select their preferred screen designs, language, volume and whether they want to receive a digital receipt, via their online loyalty account. The solution can automatically display the pick lists for frequently purchased loose fruit, vegetables and bakery items which are relevant to individual consumers.

This is complemented by NCR Enterprise Preference Manager – which enables retailers to provide customers with an online portal to manage their shopping experience based upon their preferences. Consumers can select from hundreds of options, including when, where and how they get offers and communications.
NCR Services – professional and managed services that help retailers develop and support a converged retailing business model that drives revenue and lowers costs.
Retail mobility scenarios will also be highlighted, showcasing how retailers can empower consumers to use mobile devices at all points in their shopping experience, whether they are in-store, near-store, or out-of-store.
