Children of Castle Rock, Colorado and nearby towns have a new reason to celebrate, now that pediatric dentist Layne Benzley has opened Castle Rock Smiles Pediatric Dentistry at 753 Maleta Lane, just off Founders Parkway. Dr. Benzley specializes in gentle, individualized oral health care for children ages 0 to 18.
Castle Rock Smiles officially opened its doors on May 19, 2010, and accepts a wide variety of dental insurance as well as private pay patients. Appointments are available during regular office hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM. The brand new, child-friendly office services children in Castle Rock, Castle Pines, Lone Tree, Parker, Highlands Ranch, Larkspur, Elizabeth, Kiowa, Franktown, Sedalia, and surrounding areas.
The practice features preventative services such as infant dental exams, children’s initial exams, cleanings, dental exams, digital X-rays, dental sealants, space maintainers, and sports mouth guards. Castle Rock Smiles also offers restorative services that include composite (white) fillings, amalgam (silver) fillings, stainless steel crowns, pulp treatments, and extractions, with an emphasis on gentle, comfortable pediatric oral care. Dr. Benzley and his staff are also trained and experienced in providing pediatric sedation, including nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and general anesthesia.
The child’s comfort level and ability to relax take top priority at Castle Rock Smiles. “As a pediatric dentist I have learned the importance of helping a child and their parents feel comfortable during a visit to the dentist,” remarks Dr. Benzley. “You and your child's comfort is our goal at Castle Rock Smiles.”
Dr. Benzley hails from Albuquerque, New Mexico, yet spent most of his childhood living in Provo, Utah. After living in Iceland for two years, Dr. Benzley earned a Bachelor's degree in economics from Brigham Young University in Provo, followed by a DDS degree from the University of Iowa. He procured a pediatric dental specialty certificate from the Eastman Dental Center at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York.
Dr. Benzley and his staff participate in the “Give Kids a Smile” program, which occurs every February in conjunction with National Children’s Dental Health Month. The program is spearheaded by the American Dental Association (ADA) and enhances the oral health of large numbers of needy children by encouraging providers such as Dr. Benzley to offer free oral health care services to children of low-income families across the nation. To date, the program has assisted nearly 400,000 children.
Additionally, Dr. Benzley is a member of the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, and the Metro Denver Dental Society.
