Shipco Airfreight Launches Unique Online Tool

Shipco Airfreight, one of the world’s leading neutral wholesale airfreight consolidators has launched a new online rate, quoting and booking tool.

‘Air2Z’ allows customers to look up a rate from any US zip code, on any airline, to any destination served. Based on that, Shipco’s freight forwarder customers can then quote their customer directly from the rate tool, book the shipment and, ultimately, track the shipment and download the associated shipment documents and cargo images.

“There are many rate engines available in the market”, says Shipco’s Director of US Air Export, Ronni Jensen “but none that include pick-up, handling charges and airfreight charges. In fact, our customer can get rates from door to overseas airport, all inclusive. Air2Z really is the most comprehensive rate quoting and booking tool available for our industry.”

Aside from Shipco’s own consolidation rates, Air2Z also displays back-to-back rates on more than 60 airlines, allowing the forwarder the opportunity to choose the airline and service option that is just right for his specific shipment.

“Turning quotes around in a reasonable time has always been a challenge” admits Renee Graves, Shipco’s Director of Airfreight Sales. “However, now the customer can pull his own quotes in a matter of seconds, 24/7. And it is not just a cookie cutter rate the customer will see. Air2Z identifies shipments where a spot rate might be available – and that’s when we engage in a more specific discussion with our customer”.

For many small and midsized forwarders, Air2Z is the only tool needed to be able to offer a comprehensive airfreight product to their customers. Air2Z is also catering to the many newcomers in the airfreight market.
