(openPR) - San Diego, California, Feb 22, 2011 – In an interesting new initiative, California College San Diego had launched a video contest for students on its official Facebook page.

Titled “Share Your Story,” the contest was open to all the students enrolled at California College San Diego. Participants had to submit a video explaining how California College San Diego and/or continuing education has impacted their life.

The videos were to be of 1-3 minutes in duration and explored various topics ranging from how college education multiplies career opportunities to different ways students fit school into their daily schedule. Up for grabs were exciting awards including the grand prize of an Apple iPad, which was given to the video entry that received the maximum number of votes.

The first runners-up received a $50 Visa Gift Card, while the second runners-up were awarded a $25 Visa Gift Card.

Once students had submitted their video, contestants were encouraged to invite their friends to vote for it by visiting the CCSD Facebook page.

California College San Diego has created its official page on Facebook to facilitate the exchange of information, experiences and ideas between its students. By launching this video contest, the college has provided its students a platform to showcase their talent and interact with their peers in an interesting and fun manner.

At the same time, the college will be hoping to leverage the popularity of Facebook amongst young adults to grab eyeballs and attract prospects to its fan page through the contest.
