Tutors International reports increased demand for tailored pre-university private tuition from families who need more flexibility than the IB can provide
Press release from: Tutors International
Tutors International has reported a significant increase in demand for tailored pre-university private tuition that can provide more flexibility than the International Baccalaureate, but also a more challenging educational experience than GCSEs and A-levels. For more information, visit www.tutors-international.com or call +44 (0)1865 435 135.
"Unsurprisingly, many parents are losing faith in the GCSE and A-level system, and are looking for alternatives to best prepare their children for university," said Adam Caller, founder and senior partner of Tutors International. "The two best known alternatives are the pre-U exam and the International Baccalaureate, however the latter can be very restrictive if the family wish to travel. We have been approached by several families looking for alternatives, as they don't want to be forced to restrict international travel for two years by the need to live close to an IB registered school."
"The pre-U is more flexible in that respect," Adam explained, "and as a result lends itself to home schooling more than the International Baccalaureate. We're speaking to so many parents who are seeing the level of competition to get into the best universities and are doubtful that A-levels and GCSEs are stretching their children. I think this demand for alternatives is only going to increase as content is stripped from mainstream courses year after year," Adam concluded. "Parents are coming to us to ensure their children are getting a rigorous education, rather than simply satisfying the weakening requirements of the examination boards."
