BlackBerry voice encryption: Mobile security realized

Aachen/Hanover, February 11th 2011.- At the CeBIT 2011 Compumatica secure networks will present Compumatica 3G as solution for secure BlackBerry voice encryption. According to specific customer requirements further models and versions are available as well.

Compumatica secure networks presents Compumatica 3G as new solution for protected voice-over-lP, e.g. BlackBerry communication. This encryption technique which has especially been developed for the application in mobile communication, enables dialog partners to protect their conversations and further data transmissions via telecommunication networks like WiFi, HSUPA, HSDPA, UMTS, CDMA, GPRS, EDGE, GSM and satellites efficiently against interception by third parties.

The utilization of Compumatica 3G mobiles is individually adaptable to customer requirements and available for several different operating systems, e.g. BlackBerry, Symbian, Windows Mobile or Android. Each mobile is able to communicate with each other version, i.e. there is no need to use the same models for a successful Compumatica 3G encrypted call. All Compumatica versions are installed on a μSD card with EAL5+ smartcard that has been accredited by the German BSI (Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik). This μSD card includes the software license, random generation and hardware encryption and can as well be adopted according to customer requirements.

Compumatica 3G mobile phones apply an end-to-end encryption by means of the standard encryption algorithm AES 256 bit. Key generation takes place via Diffie-Hellman 4096 bit or elliptic curves Diffie-Hellman 571 bit. The encryption occurs in real-time and ensures a fast and user-friendly handling. The quality of the call is not affected either: The bandwidth provided by modern mobile communication networks nowadays guarantees at least equally good voice quality like in unencrypted calls. Additionally, Compumatica 3G makes use of a new audio coding system that automatically adapts the data encryption to the conditions of the currently used network type. Network changes during the ongoing call are thus dynamically processed by algorithms to seamlessly maintain the connection.
Depending on the amount of mobile phones to be employed the customer may use a VoIP server provided by Compumatica or acquire an own VoIP server that has especially been conceived for the autonomous connection administration of registered users.

Compumatica 3G combines all security features which are required by governmental organizations: a dual key management (shared and automatic), the individual customization of the algorithm and compatibility with the optional Key Management System for the remote key distribution and administration.
