This newly launched server is only available currently at a few prestigious venues currently, among which is NQhost.com.

Availability of this latest server edition
Canonical had announced the launch of its Ubuntu 10.10 server in October, 2010, an announcement that had received a lot of interest from users all over the world. This new server edition makes it easier to update, run and configure in deployment and development public clouds environments. Now, users would be able to find Ubuntu 10.10 at www.nqhost.com, a very well known and reputed provider for dedicated servers as well as VPS.

New functions and features
Ubuntu 10.10 server continues to make Ubuntu one of the best open source choices for cloud computing. This new edition contains functions and features that make Canonical the leader in public cloud and bridges the gap to local and hybrid computing environments. Ubuntu 1.10 server offers kernel upgrades, more boot time configuration options along with the ability for running AMI or Amazon Machine Image off line on KVM virtualized machines. With this last feature, users would be able to develop and test on the local servers before moving to public cloud, the actual hybrid cloud computing. With all of the features that Ubuntu 10.10 offers, it is definitely one of the most well known and popular operating systems currently available on Amazon EC2.

CloudInit
With Ubuntu 10.10 users would be able to enjoy extended CloudInit, a new configuration tool which allows the users on the cloud to set up default locales, set hostnames, set up and generate SSH private keys and also set up the mount points. The users of Ubuntu will also be able to run customized scripts and commands during the initial startup or when rebooting. This new technology has also been adopted recently by Amazon.

Virtio support
Ubuntu 10.10 server also offers virtio support which is a brand new interface that can be used for administrators for easy deployment and the ability to operate UEC from USB sticks. Ubuntu’s latest version also includes Eucalyptus 2.0 which is the latest version of UEC core cloud technology. Ceph and GlusterFS are not integrated in the core product.

Users who are already eager to get their hands on Ubuntu 10.10 would now be able to find the product at www.nqhost.com
