Altia, Inc.

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO, February 14, 2011 – Altia, Inc., the award-winning provider of HMI engineering tools for embedded systems, announces new releases of its powerful software products – Altia Design 9.2 DeepScreen 6.0, PhotoProto 2.0 and FlowProto 1.5.

Altia’s toolkit allows users to build user interface models from scratch or import artists’ assets from industry-standard design programs like Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Visio to create a completely custom GUI. These UI models can be connected to a variety of simulation tools or C code to create a complex, user-driven model -- eliminating the need for costly hardware mockups. The Altia model can be used for management reviews and user testing. Once validated and approved, Altia customers automatically generate graphics code from that same Altia model that can be deployed directly to production hardware.

“This release of our software package has a lot under the hood,” said Tom Walton, Altia’s Chief Software Scientist. “It allows customers to deploy user interfaces on more platforms – faster than ever. In fact, we’ve increased the number of hardware targets by 70%. Our customers will have more choices than ever for deploying their interfaces.”

With the new releases, Altia Design 9.2 DeepScreen 6.0 supports several new platforms, including popular targets like OpenGL ES 2.x, OpenVG and Linux Framebuffer. Altia also offers full support for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Enhanced support for several features like Language Object, Distort, Skin Object and Snapshot Object gives developers the capability to create high-end HMIs that can be deployed on even low-end targets.

PhotoProto 2.0 and FlowProto 1.5 also received some exciting improvements in this release. PhotoProto, an Adobe Photoshop plug-in, now includes enhanced exporting options, integration capabilities with other tools and improved animation capabilities. FlowProto, a Microsoft Visio add-on, pulls logic and structure out of this popular Microsoft tool and converts it to XML. FlowProto’s output can also be pulled into the Altia tool chain for further development. To read more about the products mentioned here, visit our release page.
