Astellia Reports Strong +31% Revenue Increase in 2010
Rennes, 8th February 2011 – Astellia, a leading provider of monitoring solutions for the optimization of mobile network QoS and QoE, reports its 2010 revenue of 33.4M€, an increase of 31% representing solid growth throughout the past financial year.Astellia achieved record growth of its activity in 2010 (+31%). The average increase over the last 2 financial years is 16.5%, which is superior to the market growth rate (approx. 10%*). This illustrates Astellia’s capacity to gain market share within an industry that is experiencing significant restructuring. In 2010: more than 20 new customers selected Astellia’s solutions, representing almost 20% of annual orders.
In France, the 2010 revenue was 7.7M€ (23% of the total turnover), compared to 6.4M€ in 2009 (+20%). To face the challenge brought about by the substantial increase in traffic linked to the success of smartphones, operators are pursuing investment in order to improve quality of service and monitor their mobile networks, which Astellia’s solutions continue to address.
International orders represented 77% of the 2010 turnover, reaching 25.7M€, which is 34% higher than in 2009. Performances were particularly strong in Africa and the Middle East with some new major customers won in the Gulf countries. In America and the Caribbean, Astellia reinforced its market position, supported by strong growth of the mobile market and the migration towards 3G networks. This is a result of the commercial development achieved on new markets during the last few years and particularly in 2010.
Outlook 2011: The continuation of active investment to support international growth particularly in India and Russia should bear fruits during the course of 2011. With the current backlog coming to more than 20M€, Astellia is in a strong position for the new financial year. For 2011, Astellia aims to intensify its efforts in 2 main strategic areas:
- Develop business in new regions and gain international market share, with a specific focus on India, Eastern Europe and America.
- Maintain a technological lead, strengthening customers’ loyalty and accelerating commercial growth. The innovation strategy has recently been illustrated by the release of Neptune, a new generation of high capacity intelligent IP probes and the launch of the LTE solution (Long Term Evolution) aimed at monitoring and optimizing 4G networks.
*Astellia estimation, based on ABI Research study.
