(openPR) - Four schools joined hands to celebrate Republic Day complete with patriotic zest and fervour at the Girdhar Padia Krida Kendra adjacent to Padia Guest House Pilani on Wednesday 26 January 2011.

Though the ice laden winds at Pilani sought to be a dampener and an obstacle to the 62nd Republic Day celebrations, the enthusiasm of the children ensured that the event was observed with patriotic fervor, gaiety and enthusiasm.

Pilani in the heart of Shekhawati region of Rajasthan is well known for various educational institutions, CSIR Laboratory CEERI as well as the upcoming BrahMos Missile Assembly Project unit. JMA which started in 2004 with an enrollment of 60 students for the Nursery, LKG, First Junior and Class1 has grown today till Class VII with well over 6 times the enrollment. The teacher strength at JMA also has grown from 5 in 2004 to 18 presently. JMA which has been making rapid strides in early childhood education is presently one among the top ranking schools at Pilani Rajasthan.

Jamuna Mishra Academy (JMA), Goenka Vidya Mandir, Hari Devi Jhutharam Shishu Sadan and Udairamji Padia Vidya Mandir are the four schools at Pilani which had a combined Republic Day celebrations. The Chairman of JMA Pilani Dr Brij Mohan Mishra as the Chief Guest after hoisting the tricolour flag took the salute at the combined parade of the four schools.

The celebrations included band display, recitation of poems and cultural dances to highlight the patriotic spirit followed by prize distribution for various best performances. The band display by the young JMA troop was appreciated by one and all.
