(openPR) - Rahe-Kraft releases their SketchUp plugin SU²CATT for export of Sketchup 3d-models to CATT-Acoustic.
SketchUp is a very intuitive and yet powerful 3D-modeling software, developed for architectural sketches. The properties and functions of SketchUp make it predestined to model rooms also for acoustic prediction software such as CATT-Acoustic, EASE, Odeon and similar software. Sketchup supports the user in building consistent models which meet the requirements of acoustic models.
Rahe-Kraft, an acoustic consultancy based in Berlin, Germany, has developed a Plug-In for SketchUp which exports even complex models to native CATT-Acoustic syntax. The plugin called SU²CATT was originally designed for in-house use for Rahe-Kraft and is now distributed commercially.
Besides the geometry, the plugin supports straight-forward visual assignment of material properties, layer-based modelling and a number of CATT-Acoustic-specific geoetry and modelling tags such as double-sided planes and more.
A fully-functional Demo-verson is available for download, the only restriction is a maximum number of 100 planes which will be exported. This is sufficient for smaller projects, commercial use of the demo is explicity allowed. SU²CATT runs with both the commercial and the free version of Sketchup 6.

The full version of SU²CATT 1.0 is now available for € 249 ($325 in U.S.) for a branch office license.
